Remember your creator.

True happiness can never be attained by seeking the fulfillment of all of your sensual desires or stimulating the five senses. True happiness is only ever spiritual and emotional. After a certain age, a young adult has experienced all the material pleasures of life that the world (the dunya) has to offer them and has hit a metaphorical ceiling or dead end. For many, in the absence of true knowledge of the nature of life and the world, they are confused. Acutely aware that there is a void, something missing, but not quite sure what it is.

The answer is the remembrance of the one for whom you owe your very existence to. The one whom if He had decided not to give you existence, not to allow you to be conceived, to be born and to live beyond a very young age you would not be here today. Remember your lord, the merciful and compassionate one who overlooks your (and my) many sins and your complete lack of remembrance of him.

depression

Depression is endemic now in the industrialized world. Partly symptomatic of an increasingly more materialistic, superficial and busier life, where people have more cold hard electronic gadgets but less real warm soft emotional bonds and friendship.

Happiness lies in remembering your creator, thanking him, worshipping him and also in helping the creation, those who are less fortunate than you, those who are suffering or in pain. Worship Allah and help others.

Jumu’ah Mubarak

Today is Friday, or in Arabic “Yawm ul Jum’uah”. Yawm means day and Jumu’ah is the name of Friday in Arabic.

It means the day of “gathering”. The Arabic verb for gather, collect is “jama’a”.

I would like to wish all of my readers a happy and blessed Friday (Jumu’ah Mubarak) for themselves and their families.

May Allah accept your du’as. Give you good health, resolve your problems, make you have happy relationships with your loved ones, increase you in Iman (faith) and rizq (sustenance) and forgive all of your sins.

A beautiful picture which I saw on facebook today which took my breath. It reminded me of the beauty of Allah’s creation and of nature. It is such things which help us to remember that in spite of the suffering we see on earth, we also live in a very beautiful planet too, one in which we have a duty to contribute to the betterment of our fellow men and to remove their suffering.

22nd Rajab 1436

Asalamu ‘alaikum to all Muslim readers and a warm greeting to all non-Muslims,

From now I will be regularly posting messages on my blog to inform you of the date according to the Islamic calendar.

Today is the 22nd of Rajab 1436.

Rajab is the 7th month of the Islamic year. It is also one of the four sacred months in which the pre-Islamic Arabs for instance used to refrain from fighting.

It is in this month that the Me’raj took place.

The Me’raj is when the holy prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم travelled from Mecca to Jerusalem and then ascended to the heavens and is one of the miracles of his life. He صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم was a humble man who lived a simple life with little food and in a basic modest house, but this is one of the miracles which he was endowed with.

ShabeMiraj-Lailat

I would like to greet all Muslim brothers and sisters on this day with “Salam”, the Arabic for peace and may Allah give you and your families goodness and blessings on this day and the same for myself.
